Here are a few questions for you Entrepreneurs in the lawn care business.
1. What type of equipment did you start with and what are you running now?
2. Do you do Residential or Commercial Accounts?
3. What percentage of your accounts are Residential and Commercial?
4. How did you get your first Commercial Account?
5. How do you charge? By the cut? by the Hour or by the job. Do you have a minimum charge rate?
6. What are the best or some of the benefits from running or owning your lawn care business?
7. What are the negatives or things you dislike?
8. What has been your biggest challenge?
9. Do you employ others in addition to yourself?
10. Do you provide Insurance?
11. Do you give special rates to the elderly or veterans?
12. What would you do anything differently if you had to or could start over?

Started with a Honda HRR from 2006, and a 27 year old Echo trimmer. Still like those brands (a lot!). I charge by the cut.

I started a company and want to rapidly expand into Lawn Cutting this summer. As with snow removal, I want to gain customers and offer them incentive to make the switch to my company, but it needs to be more strategic than that.
